Five has acquired for this Autumn, the hotly tipped new US drama FlashForward, starring British actors Joseph Fiennes and Jack Davenport, from Disney-ABC-ESPN Television, it was announced today.
The 13 episode drama will debut in prime time in the US on ABC, on Thursday, September 24th at 8pm before Grey’s Anatomy. Five has acquired the exclusive UK terrestrial and digital rights for FIVER and Five USA.

The high concept, character-driven drama is based on a novel by award-winning author Robert J Swayer , when a mysterious event causes the entire world to suffer a brief blackout (two minutes and 17 seconds) and everyone sees a vision of their own future in six months’ time on a specific date, April 29, 2010. Every man, woman and child is then forced to come to grips with whether their destinies can be avoided or fulfilled.
FlashForward stars UK actors Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love) and Jack Davenport (Pirates of the Caribbean) and an ensemble cast including John Cho, Courtney B. Vance, Sonya Walger, Brian O’Byrne, Christine Woods, Zachary Knighton and Peyton List.
