Over the weekend US rockers the Foo Fighters teased the possibility of playing another show while they’re in the UK for the Invictus Games closing ceremony in London.
The group have taken to Twitter earlier this morning to confirm those plans – though dates, times and ticket information haven’t been revealed.
The Foo Fighters join a huge line-up of stars set to play at the Invictus Games closing ceremony on the 14th of September including The Vamps, Ellie Goulding, Kaiser Chiefs and many more.
We weren’t expecting them to pop up anywhere else but boy are we glad they want to give the rest of the UK a piece of the action.
Over the weekend the band tweeted a photo of their drumkit with the caption: “Michael and Freddy think it would be a shame to just do one show while we’re in the UK…”
Now, this morning they’ve posted a photo of a UK socket (seen below) with the caption: “Sure missed you…now, let’s do 3 club gigs this week…”
For now however, that’s all we know, no dates, locations or ticket prices have been confirmed but we’re more than willing to wait.
Could they be about to pull a Prince and randomly announce that they’ll be playing at a particular venue that morning? That would be pretty cool.
Either way we expect a full tour to be announced in the coming months after they’ve launched their eighth studio album ‘Sonic Highways‘ – due out on the 10th of November.
Prior to that the band will feature in their own TV series on HBO, which will feature them touring the US as they work on the new record.
Fans will get the unique opportunity to see the band in various studios including Chicago, Austin and Nashville with the eight part series being directed by Dave Grohl.
Where would you like to see the band perform? Will they stick to venues around London or will they go further up the country?
