American rockers Foo Fighters have performed some pretty big shows in their career and have already played with some of the biggest names the music industry has to offer. However frontman Dave Grohl has one more musician on his wishlist and revealed that he wants to take to the stage again with Prince. The star revealed that he once performed with the Purple Rain singer in an empty stadium, but next time he’d like to do it for an audience.

What do you get when you put Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and the Purple One in an empty stadium together? A cover of a Led Zeppelin track, that’s what.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, Grohl explained that the collaboration was a bit of a surprise, which happened shortly after Foo Fighters recorded a version of ‘Darling Nikki’ by Prince.

Could Prince appear at Glastonbury to perform a 'secret' show?

Could Prince appear at Glastonbury in the near future?

The track received some airplay, but failed to make the band’s album, after Prince refused permission. He did repay the favour by singing his own version of Foo’s ‘Best Of You’ at the Super Bowl.

He explained: “Three years ago, Prince books 21 nights at the Forum [in L.A.]. I can’t f*cking wait. I go to the first show, in a party bus with all my friends, boozing it up.

“I walk into the Forum Club and bump into somebody from a road crew I’d worked with before. He says, ‘Prince knows you’re here. He wants to jam.'” Grohl added. WOW!

He continued to reveal that at the end of the night he pulled back a black curtain with Prince and Sheila E standing behind it. Prince asked: “‘When do you want to jam? How about Friday?’ All right, cool!”

Dave Grohl returned to the Forum and met Prince before anyone had entered the arena and they spun out a few tunes. He continued:

“I can’t believe this is happening. And it’s happening in a completely empty Forum. Then he puts on a guitar and starts playing [Led Zeppelin’s] ‘Whole Lotta Love’.”

Grohl said they performed for ten minutes and then left and he never heard from the star again….

Sounds like a pretty incredible moment don’t you think? Leave your comments below…
