Former Corrie star Helen Flanagan says she wants to return to the soap as Rosie Webster, single mum!
Earlier this year, following former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan’s stint in the jungle for ITV’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, we reported that Helen had allegedly claimed she would never return to the soap as she blamed it – in part – for causing her to suffer from depression and anxiety.
However, a report in The Sun’s TV Biz today states that Helen would consider returning to the cobbles, and if she were to reprise the role of Rosie Webster, she’d like to see her character come back to Weatherfield with a baby in tow!
Of the prospect of a return to the long-running serial drama, Helen told the paper, “You can never say never…
“Who knows what will happen in the future?
“I love Coronation Street. I was on the show for 12 years and was fortunate enough not to be killed off on the show, so there’s always a chance of going back.”
“She’s been away in London doing modelling so she probably thinks she’s a bit above everyone.
“But I’d like to see her back with Jason, or it would be great if she came back with a baby.
“I’d love that.”
Helen had of course played the role of Rosie since she was ten years old, having joined the cast of the soap in 2000.
Before she left the show in February 2012, it was widely reported that Helen had suffered panic attacks on the set of the soap, and that she was unhappy with the way her character was being portrayed. She was also reportedly disconcerted by having to film some scenes wearing only flimsy lingerie.
Would you like to see Helen return as Rosie?
Here’s a reminder of her on the show back in 2004…
