Former EastEnders star Danniella Westbrook lost two stones after breast implant scare

Danniella Westbrook, who of course formerly starred in EastEnders as Sam Mitchell, has revealed that in the wake of the recent scare about breast implants, she decided that she needed to become fitter and healthier, and subsequently has shed around two stones in weight.

Danniella – who’s also appeared on reality TV shows I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here and Dancing on Ice – has of course been dogged by health issues related to her former booze and drug addictions.

At one point, she had to have her nasal septum repaired after her frequent cocaine use eroded it to the point that it collapsed, so when she feared that one of her breast implants had ruptured, she realized her life needed something of an overhaul.

The Sun reports that while speaking to Closer magazine, Danniella revealed her fright when she believed her implant was leaking.

She said, “It was scary, and it made me reassess my lifestyle – I wanted to get healthier…”

However, Danniella went on to say that since she returned to the UK last year from California, she’d found she was able to get fast food far more easily, and as a result, she piled on the pounds.

She said, “It’s hard to find that sort of food in Orange County, so I ate loads of it during the first three months back in Essex.

“I was hardly going to eat salads when I hadn’t been able to get my hands on Cadbury’s chocolate or Walker’s crisps, was I?”

She added, “I hated my flabby tummy and was finding it hard to fit into some of my dresses.

“But I love carbs – so I just wanted to find an eating plan that was healthy, but not too restrictive.”

However, having taken up regular exercise, and chosen to eat a healthier diet, Danniella revealed that the weight has been dropping off.

She said, “I now feel much more toned all over, especially on my arms and stomach, which is great.

“I don’t want to be any smaller than a size 8. When I was really ill with drugs I weighed around 7st.

“It used to hurt just getting in and out of the bath, because I had no flesh on my bones. I don’t want to live like that.”
