Former EastEnders bad boy, Rob Kazinsky, has joined the supernatural vampire cast of True Blood – as a Faerie, the Sun newspaper reports.
Rob, who fans will best remember as manic Sean Slater in the award-winning BBC soap, has reportedly signed up to play Ben, a “highly charismatic faerie” when the sixth series returns to our screens, in the US next June, before airing on FX in the UK.
Kazinsky was last seen in Albert Square in 2009 when he drove his wife, Roxy (Rita Simons) into an icy lake after discovering that her child, Amy, was not his. He managed to free Roxy from the weeds before making an escape from Jack (Scot Maslen), faking his own death.
Kazinsky had, previous to his decision to quit, been suspended for the show for two months after it emerged that he had been texting explicit, and unwanted, messages to a model.
In his new role, Kazinsky will help lead character, Sookie (Anna Paquin) discover the truth about her parents death, as well as falling for her in the process!
He joins Blade Runner star Rutger Hauer for the new series, who is reported to play a sinister character who has links to Sookie and her brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten), according to Tvline.com.
Meanwhile, Battleship and True Blood star, Alexander Skarsgard is reportedly being lined up to play Tarzan in the new big-budget take on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ beloved character, directed by Harry Potter director David Yates’s and produced by Warner Bros, so Variety reports.
According to the publication, the story focuses on Tarzan and an ex-mercenary named George Washington Williams who attempt to save the Congo from a warlord who controls a massive diamond mine.
Tom Hardy, Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam and Superman star Henry Cavill have also been linked to the role, with Samuel L. Jackson in line to play Williams.
Skarsgard has also been linked to play Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, but so far his spokespeople have no comment on the rumours.
