Former Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett “petrified” after yob attack
The incident occurred when Roxanne was on a train heading to Manchester, and in a carriage alone. However, three “foul mouthed louts” entered the train compartment, along with two Staffordshire Bull Terriers.
The Sun reports that the group – one of whom was a young woman – lifted the dog up to Roxanne’s face, commanding the animal to “get her!”
Roxanne – who’s also appeared on Dancing on Ice, The Real Hustle and Casualty – escaped from the yobs when she pulled the communication cord to stop the train. The thugs then apparently left the train with the dogs. The police are apparently “still hunting them.”
A friend of Roxanne’s told the paper, “They started out by calling her by her Emmerdale name and their abuse got nastier and nastier…
“They started saying how she must think she’s better than everyone else because she chose to ignore them.
“She was petrified and thought the dog was going to rip her to pieces.”
The paper adds that after the vile attack, Roxanne continued her journey to Manchester Piccadilly, where waiting British Transport Police took a statement.
A police spokesman confirmed they were investigating “abusive behaviour”.
This is yet another of those stories that makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with people. The papers are of course full of these stories; people being cruel and violent for apparently no other reason than the ‘fun’ of it. Horrendous.
