Former Shameless and EastEnders star, Jody Latham, awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to growing cannabis!
Former Shameless and EastEnders actor Jody Latham has admitted a charge of producing cannabis in Lancashire.
Latham, who played Lip Gallagher in Shameless, and more recently pimp Rob Grayson in EastEnders, was arrested after growing 24 plants worth about £14,000 at an address in Bacup, in May 2011. Police had been called to his home after neighbours reported a racket and when they arrived, they found a man with an eye injury leaving the property.
A witness told The Sun at the time:
“There was shouting and a pink bike was thrown out of the house.”
“Two men then went round the back of the house and continued insulting each other. They then disappeared off but Jody’s Jack Russell must have escaped and I heard him screaming and shouting for his dog.”
A police spokeswoman said: “A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of producing a Class B drug, namely cannabis, and being concerned in that drug’s supply.”
Latham originally pleaded not guilty to the charges, however has now changed his plea to guilty at Burnley Crown Court, after his accomplice Sarah Melia, 31, of Cotman Close, Bacup, admitted allowing cannabis to be grown on a premises, and after receiving bail is now awaiting sentencing on December 17th.
Pre-sentence reports are being prepared on Latham ahead of his court appearance next month.
Latham has recently been linked romantically to X Factor judge, Tulisa, after playing her love interest in her new music video; watch a news report about the pair in the clip below:
