Former Smallville star Laura Vandervoort wins CSI: NY role
Actress Laura Vandervoort is to appear in a January episode of CSI: NY.
The former Smallville star will take on the part of Macy in the long-running crime drama, according to TV Line.
The character is a young woman who has been mistakenly put in prison for the possession of stolen property.
Once released from jail, a furious Macy attempts to track down her ex-boyfriend and seek revenge for framing her.
The actress is perhaps best known for playing Kara/Supergirl on Smallville between 2007 and 2011 and she has also starred in ABC’s remake of V as well as appearing in 2012 films Ted and This Means War.
It was recently revealed that CSI: NY will cross over with parent series CSI during which a number of storylines will intertwine and characters from each series will appear in the same scenes.
The show continues in the UK on Channel 5 at 10pm on Saturday nights and is shown on CBS in the US.
