Channel 4 have commissioned The Road to Russell Brand: Skinned, an intimate and revealing documentary combining behind the scenes footage and stand up performance with an in-depth interview conducted by Frank Skinner.

In early 2009 Russell completed an international tour that featured dates in New York and Australia as well as a number of shows in the UK. The tour culminated with a sell out 17,000 people gig at the O2. During this period cameras were following Russell back stage and travelling.

Combining previously unseen footage of early gigs with the interview, the documentary not only tells the story of the Scandalous Tour but also touches upon Russell’s rise to fame, sexual notoriety and first hand experience of the media storm around ‘Sachsgate’, giving a unique insight into the man himself.
