Fringe is returning to Sky 1 in October for it’s fifth and final season! (SPOILERS)
The end is nigh. From Wednesday 24 October at 10pm, cult favourite FRINGE embarks on its fifth and final season exclusively on Sky 1 HD. Created by JJ Abrams, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the writing team behind hit reboot Star Trek, and boasting a stellar cast including Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson and John Noble, FRINGE has garnered a dedicated and passionate fan base over its five years on screen.
FRINGE’s final chapter, comprising of 13 episodes, promises to deliver a climactic conclusion. The season premiere, Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11, will be set in 2036. The story picks up after the Fringe Division has just been just freed from a 20-year slumber preserved in amber, but someone is missing from the Bishop family reunion. Peter (Jackson), his daughter Etta (Georgina Haig), Walter (Noble) and Astrid (Jasika Nicole) will have to go on the hunt for the missing Olivia (Torv).
Joshua Jackson said: “It takes on a slightly different flavour than I think you would anticipate. It happens quite quickly off the top of the season, and it’s as emotional as you would imagine, but not quite the reunion that you’re expecting.”
Executive producer J.H. Wyman said: “I want something that ends in a way that is completely understandable, something that makes me feel something, something that makes people think, ‘I spent four years of my life investing in these people, and it was worth it’.” He added: “There will be death in the final season. Whenever there’s a war, there are going to be casualties. I think they’re going to be unexpected.”
FRINGE SEASON 5 will air on Sky 1 HD and Sky 1 from Wednesday 24 October at 10pm. Are you excited? Leave your comments below…
