As King’s Landing is thrown into chaos by Cersei’s manoeuvrings, Arya and her sword-fighting instructor Syrio Forel face-off with Lannister guards.

In response to the turmoil in the South, Robb Stark calls his allies and heads there to face the formidable Tywin Lannister on the battlefield. Meanwhile, Tywin’s son Tyrion forms an unlikely alliance with the unruly and very dangerous hill tribes.

In the North, Jon Snow’s animosity with senior Night’s Watchman Ser Alliser Thorne boils over into open hostility; but the men of the Wall will soon have other worries as a sinister and mysterious enemy comes to Castle Black.

And across the Narrow Sea, Daenerys must reconcile her desire to conquer the Seven Kingdoms with the true brutality of war, as she witnesses the Dothrakis viciously attack a peaceful village.
