Game Of Thrones Season 2: Recap and look ahead to ‘Old Gods and the New’ *SPOILERS*

OK, so for those of you who missed the last episode of The Game Of Thrones (Why? Where were you?), the kind folks over at HBO have released a pretty decent recap video, which will bring you up to speed, before the next episode premieres.

In “The Ghost of Harrenhal” – which aired in the US on Sunday on HBO and in the UK the following evening, on Sky Atlantic – Cersei Lannister and Tyrion were at loggerheads once more, this time over her daughter Myrcella.

Tyrion was keen to strengthen the House of Lannister’s political position during the War of the Five Kings, by forging a marriage-alliance with House Martell of Dorne, by offering Princess Myrcella to be married to Dorne’s youngest son Trystane Martell. In return he was hoping that House Martell would supply men and supplies to the Lannisters’, and hold back from siding with any of their enemies.

As you can see from the clip, Cersei is none to happy about the plan.

Meanwhile, in Quarth, Daenerys met Pyat Pree of the Warlocks of Qarth for the first time. He demonstrated his magic and invited her to visit him at the House of the Undying. While planning her return to Westeros, she was faced with a surprising proposition, when Xaro showed the princess his fortune and offered to fund her battle, in exchange for her hand in marriage.

Elsehwre Ayra Stark won favour with one of the prisoners she rescued and Jaqen H’ghar vowed to protect her and kill three people who meant to do her harm.

So now you’re all caught up, here’s what you can expect from the next episode of your favourite fantasy drama.

In ‘The Old Gods and the New,’ Daenerys will become even more determined to conquer and claim her rightful place and the exiled Targaryen princess will ask the Spice King to allow her to cross The Narrow Sea in his own ships.

Arya will be surprised and not unpleasantly so, by a new face arriving in the kingdom, while Theon Greyjoy sees his long conceived plan coming to fruition.

Tyrion gets his way and Princess Myrcella is sent away from King’s Landing and it turns out that the action was taken just in the nick of time. However Cersei is devastated to lose her daughter and tells her small brother that she will exact her revenge, by taking a person that is dear to him.

Meanwhile, Jon Snow will be asked to prove his mettle by ranger Qhorin Halfhand, at Fist of the First Men.

‘Old Gods and the New’ will be broadcast in the US, on Sunday, May 6 at 9 P.M on HBO and in the UK one night later, on Sky Atlantic.
