Game of Thrones season 4

The brand new Game of Thrones trailer was unveiled earlier this week and despite it only being almost 2-minute long, it’s pretty damn epic.

We can’t wait for the return of Game of Thrones and its fourth season later this year as if the trailer is anything to go by, then it’s going to be an explosive season.

One of the things that had us intrigued within the first few seconds was the shadow of the dragon that is seen flying across the skies.

From the trailer, it’s looking like the Lannister’s will take center-stage once again during the fourth season as we see Jamie Lannister being fitted with a new prosthetic hand and that will play a huge role in the forthcoming season.

We also get a glimpse at the forthcoming wedding, and it’s looking a little bit more peaceful than the red wedding we all experienced last season and if George R.R. Martin’s words are anything to go by, then it won’t be as ‘red’.

Elsewhere, it looks like Tyrion Lannister is in a bit of trouble. Last season, he was forced into marrying Sansa Stark, but we see him in handcuffs in the trailer. Many of his family members want him dead as it is, so it’ll most definitely be interesting to see where the story goes with that one.

Not only that, there’s some small snippets of Arya and Bran along with Jon Snow. The battle between the Wildings and the small group that is The Night’s Watch will also step up this season as they fight to protect the Seven Kingdoms.

Speaking of which, will we see a major focus on Daenerys crossing the narrow sea and taking the Seven Kingdoms? Afterall, the slaves of Yunkai all pledged their allegiance to her last season.

She says: “They have a choice. They can live in my new world or die in their old one”.

It’s safe to say that you need not have read the books to get a taster of what is to come in season 4. It looks like it’s going to shape up to be one of the most explosive seasons yet.

Game of Thrones returns to HBO on April 6 and also returns to Sky Atlantic in the UK on April 7.
