X Factor judge Gary Barlow (not for long) has admitted that he’s looking forward to competing in the Official Charts with his old bandmate Robbie Williams.
The pair will go head to head next month when they both release some new material. Barlow confessed that he’s excited because the pair are so competitive.
Gary Barlow will release his new solo material ‘Since I Saw You Last’ on the 25th of November while Robbie Williams will release his new track ‘Swing Both Ways’ one week after so fans will be rushing to get their favourite the better spot in the charts
The X Factor judge spoke with MTV News and said that he loves challenging Robbie Williams and this will be the perfect chance to exercise their playful nature:
“We’re a competitive pair me and Rob, we get competitive just being in the same room or same dinner table, so yeah, I’m looking forward to existing in the same chart.”
He continued: “I am looking forward to it, just because it comes from a much better place than it used to come from, our competition. I have a lot of love for him and I know he’s got just a little bit for me.”
“I mean the interesting thing is, I’ve written a song on his new record and he’s written one on mine so we share the love around these days.”
Gary Barlow also confirmed on the X Factor live shows that this year would be his last. The rumours began after Chris Evans apparently let it slip that Barlow would be ending his run on the show.
During the live shows on October 12th Gary confirmed the speculation and said live on air:
“I’ve been here for three years and I’m so glad that for my last year on the show I get to mentor you guys.”
Later that night he spoke through his PR firms Twitter account and elaborated:
“Next year is looking to be a busy year for me & XF is a full time job so it felt like the right time to hand over the baton… I’ve loved being a part of the show and have met and worked with some fantastic people… ”
“But most importantly, more than ever, I want to go out with the winning act this year. Come on the groups!”
