Gavin and Stacey – not gone for good

The final series of BBC comedy Gavin and Stacey may be about to air. But show creator Ruth Jones has insisted that this will not be the last time we see the pair on our screens.

Speaking at the launch of the third series yesterday Ruth said:

Speaking at the launch of the third and final series, she told us: “This is the final series and we thought long and hard about that.

“We didn’t want it to get too far away from the central story. Great shows like Fawlty Towers only ran for a short time and people forget that.

“But it probably won’t disappear for ever – it would be good to catch up with Gavin and Stacey.”

She explained: “I can see us doing some specials.”

It should be their last “show” since they are as funny as a fire in an orphanage.
