Great news today for fans of hit sitcom Gavin & Stacey comes with the announcement that the duo, and the rest of the cast, will be back in a one-off special.

Ruth Jones, who of course co-writes the show with James Corden told The Sun, “It looks like there will be a Gavin & Stacey special some time in the future.

“It will show how things worked out for Gavin and Stacey – and for Nessa and Smithy.”

The last episode, which we saw in January, featured Ruth and James – who of course play Nessa and Smithy – seemingly happy together as they played on a beach in Barry with their baby son Neil.

An insider from the show’s production company told the paper, “There are no plans for a new series but talks about a one-off special – perhaps for Christmas next year – are well under way.”
