James Corden has revealed that the next series of hit BBC comedy Gavin and Stacey will be the last.

The star, whose new sketch show Horne And Corden starts next week, told the Daily Star that they are currently writing the final season and will kick off filming this summer.

“It’s terrifying but we’ve got to give it a good stab and hopefully give people the ending they want,” he told the paper. “This is the last series, unless in 10 years time we’re broke and need to make a Christmas special.”

He went on: “We have a vision of how we want things to end. We both felt we’d be copping out to finish after last year’s Christmas special because it was left so open.”

Horne And Corden airs on BBC Three from Tuesday March 10.
