Gemma Bissix “excited” about Hollyoaks return

Gemma Bissix has revealed in an interview with the Press Association that she’s “excited” about making a comeback to Hollyoaks after being away from the show for two years.
The 25 year old will again take up the role of Clare Devine/Cunningham, and said: “It’s exciting stuff to come back and play Clare.
“I don’t think I’ve ever found a character like her – there’s no limit as far as she’s concerned and in these episodes in particular she’s come back slightly unhinged and there isn’t much that gets in her way and that’s what I think is so exciting.”
Gemma mad her first appearance in the soap in 2006 and quickly became a firm favourite with the Chester based soap as her character became “one of the most malicious” in the show’s history…
She left in 2007 following thrilling scenes in which she lost control of her car as she was being chased by her husband and ex-lover, Max Cunningham and Warren Fox repestively. The final scenes saw Gemma’s charcter plunge into a 50ft-deep quarry.
Gemma’s due to return to the soap next month which coincides with the exits Jamie Lomas who plays Warren and her ‘arch-enemy’ Justin Burton, played by Chris Fountain. It’s been revealed that Warren and Justin will exit in a storyline that features “a blazing inferno at The Loft”.
