An extra spooky episode of Ghost Whisperer tonight begins with a cosmetics party in Melinda’s house. Jim gets roped into putting on some makeup, but as soon as it’s applied, Jim’s face turns into a fleshy mess that only Melinda can see.

They go for a walk and encounter a fairly aggressive ghost cat. Later that night, Melinda has a vision of her mother dying on an operating table. The next day she drives off to visit her mother leaving Jim on his own for a poker night with the guys.

However…during the poker game, a ghostly disturbance upsets the men and almost chokes one of them. Naturally, they scarper.

In bed, Jim dreams that a blonde in silky negligee visits him and seems to be trying to seduce him. At the same time, he sees a vision of an operating theatre where something has gone wrong. After almost succumbing to the ghosts advances, he’s woken by a call from Melinda.

He tells Melinda about the ghost the next day and she links the dream to her mother’s operation. She advises Jim to visit Professor Payne in the University.

Jim visits the professor and discovers that the beetle’s he’s been seeing with the dreams are related to Egyptian scarabs and links the symbolism to the name of the cosmetic company. He discovers the woman from his dreams was a model and finds an advert for Bast Cosmetics. He asks the lady from the cosmetics evening about her and discovers she died during an appendectomy two weeks earlier.

Jim drags a friend along to a memorial ceremony the next day, and discovers that the deceased is actually a girl from his town. Before Melinda returns home, Eva visits Jim one last time and reveals to him that he helped her when she was a teenager and that he was the first person to make her feel beautiful.

When Melinda comes home they visit Eva’s mother and try to talk to her. Eva appears and reveals that her mother criticized her as a child. This led her to go for plastic surgery. Jim and Melinda confront Eva’s agent and she reveals that Eva was taking diet pills at the time of the operation. They convince the agent, Diana, to tell the family the truth.

However, at the family home, Eva reveals that Diana told her to keep the diet pills a secret or she wouldn’t get the plastic surgery she desired. Eva tells them that she wants her sister to know this and not to follow her into a career which could destroy her life.
