Glastonbury is returning in 2014 and with that we’ll no doubt see one of the biggest and best lineups of any festival in the UK – though in their own unique ways they’re all great.
We already know that Lily Allen is to perform at the annual music festival and now we know that Arcade Fire are the headliners on the Friday night on the Pyramid Stage.
The announcement was made earlier today and it’ll mark the first time Arcade Fire have performed at the festival since 2007.
Oh and they’re guaranteeing sunshine!
Glastonbury is held at Worthy Farm and runs from June 25th to the 29th and for Arcade Fire the headline slot falls bang in the middle of their 2013-2014 tour.
We also know that Arcade Fire will also play at other festivals across the summer of 2014 including Primavera Sound in Barcelona, NorthSide Festival in Denmark, Hurricane Festival in Germany and are the band are also rumoured to perform at Coachella in California.
The band broke the news a matter of minutes ago via Twitter:

The Canadian band will close the festival on the Friday night on the Pyramid Stage which last year saw The Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys and Mumford and Sons all perform.
Tickets for the festival were snapped up in record timing back in October.
From the Tweet the band posted above it’s clear they will also perform the following:
- London Earls Court (June 6, 7, 2014)
- Glastonbury Festival (June 27)
- Dublin Marlay Park on (June 29)
Last month Arcade Fire also went to number one with their fourth studio album ‘Reflektor’ which knocked Katy Perry off the top.
So there we have it, at present we know that Lily Allen will perform over the weekend and Arcade Fire will close the Friday night live on the Pyramid Stage.
