Glee: Chris Colfer is happy that Kurt and Blaine had a ‘genuine kiss’

Chris Colfer has admitted that he was glad his Glee character Kurt enjoyed a ‘genuine kiss’ for the first time.

Fans were delighted when Kurt and Blaine (Darren Criss) finally locked lips during a recent episode and speaking to E! Online about the moment the actor said:

“I’m glad that Kurt had a genuine kiss and it was not forced by Brittany or Karofsky.”

“I’m happy for him.”

Asked if he was nervous about filming the kissing scene Darren added:

“It’s such a beautiful moment and so well set up that when you’re in a moment like that you’re not thinking, like, ‘He he he, I’m kissing Chris Colfer and everyone’s going to freak out!'”

“Honestly, there’s some very strong emotions there and I was really swept up by that. That whole day I felt like Blaine would have felt in the sense that there is this impending thing… I had butterflies. I made sure to walk into that scene with this kind of very antsy feeling so the kiss was like a release. It was this really beautiful, beautiful thing and I’m so happy that I got to be a part of it.”

On where Kurt and Blaine’s relationship will go from here, Darren admitted that they may not be ‘together forever’ saying:

“In this day and age a kiss isn’t necessarily a be-all and end-all of, ‘We’re together forever!’ So who knows. But obviously it’s developed in a very significant way so that’s not to say it’s not going to go anywhere. I feel it can only go up from here.”
