Glee: Jane Lynch reveals the Cory Monteith tribute episode is the “most beautiful thing”
Not an awful lot is known at the Cory Monteith memorial episode which is set to go out on October 10, but Jane Lynch has today tweeted that the episode is the “most beautiful thing”.
Cory Monteith who played Finn Hudson on the show passed away in July from a drugs overdose with Heroin and Alcohol being the two main substances found in his body. The special memorial episode will act as a tribute for Monteith in which his character, Finn will also be killed off.
In a previous interview, Lynch who plays Sue Sylvester said the memorial episode was going to be “awful” to film, but since reading the official script for the third episode of the season, she said it is simply the “most beautiful thing” which is a relief for many fans.
She posted on Twitter: “Just read Cory Monteith memorial episode. Most beautiful thing. Thank you, @MrRPMurphy @BFalchuk Ian Brennan”.
Speaking to E! Online during a previous interview a few days back, Lynch said: “It’s gonna be awful. It’s gonna be terrible. It has to be done but it’s gonna be awful.
“We haven’t started yet and I think we start on Friday. I haven’t seen the script yet”.
It is thought the filming will begin on the memorial episode tomorrow or over the weekend now that the scripts have been sent out to the cast. Unfortunately, how Finn will pass away is not yet known and Ryan Murphy has said that we may never find out. He wants the episode to be more of a celebration than anything else.
The first two episodes of the season will be a two-part Beatles tribute whilst the third episode will be the memorial episode. Following on from that, the show will take a three week hiatus.
Glee returns to FOX on Thursday September 26.
