Glee pushes Journey track back into UK charts

US musical comedy Glee has been influencing the pop charts this week, after it’s UK debut on E4.

Songs from the show have made stormed the charts and two versions of Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ are set to perform well in the official singles chart.

The song was first pushed into the charts after Joe McElderry covered it on X Factor and is currently sitting at the number 7 spot. It is expected to rise and achieve top 5 status, whilst the Glee cast version is set to enter the top 20 for the first time.

None of this will be surprising to ardent Glee fans (aka Gleeks), as after the show’s American première, cast versions of every track were released on US iTunes, leading to its stars having more songs in the Billboard charts at the same time than anyone since the Beatles.

If you haven’t caught Glee yet, then be sure to catch the repeat on E4 tomorrow night and again on Sunday. This is one show you want to see from the start!
