Glee star, Lea Michele, has revealed her excitement over the release of her debut album, and confirmed that it will not include covers.
Leah, who has played leading lady, Rachel Barry, in the hit US musical teen drama, since it began, has been working on her first album for the last few months, and explained that she has had it with preforming other peoples songs on Glee, so she wanted something truly unique for her first solo project.
Speaking to Jay Leno on The Tonight Show, Michele said that she is “so excited” about releasing her own music, adding:
“It’s funny because I get asked a lot if I’m doing covers,” she said. “If you think that there are actually covers that we haven’t done on Glee that I could then put on an album… We’ve done everything! Pretty soon we’re just going to have to start doing opera and stuff on the show.”
Michele added: “No, it’s all original pop music [on my album] and I’m really, really excited about it.”
The actress went on to explain how she has loved her time in the studio, and that she has even bumped into ‘Gangnam Style’ star Psy and Ringo Starr in the building, as well as admitting that she had a mishap after getting a spray tan before arriving to record.
“I put my feet up to take a nice little lunch break and one of the managers had their dog, and the dog jumped up on my lap,” she said. “He went over to pick up the dog and the dog peed all over me.
“Which wouldn’t have been so bad – I wiped it off – but because I didn’t wipe off the spray tan yet it left pee streaks all over my legs!”
