Gloria Hunniford criticises Radio Two presenter Chris Evans

Gloria Hunniford has hit out at the decision to replace Terry Wogan with Chris Evans on the Radio Two breakfast show.
She told BBC Radio Ulster’s Stephen Nolan: “I thought maybe Steve Wright would have moved into that breakfast slot – I’m surprised Chris Evans is moving in.
“Personally I am quite shocked but if they’re going for that younger audience – you know, going to school and that – maybe Chris is an obvious choice.”
She went on: “I would have reservations. But that’s only a personal opinion. He’s a good broadcaster, but I personally don’t think he’s of the same calibre as Terry.
“Maybe that’s just with my own age group. I still have him (Evans) in a more childish category. I don’t think he has the same depth, if you understand what I mean.
“He doesn’t make me laugh as much as Terry. The morning is a very unusual period for me. I don’t want to go zap, zap, zap, zap. I prefer the more gentle humour of Terry.”

Hi we all know that no one can replace terry wogan, but chris evans is well established there now.Give him a chance and lets see how he gets on.I dint like him on drive time but now i have to toss up between watching paul ogrady on tv or listening to chris.I think chris will take on board the fact that a lot of older people listern in the morning. After all Radio 2 is manly middle of the road music,so he wont play things unsuitable.Good luck terry for the future .Enjoy your retirement and we look forward to hearing chris in the new year.
