Golden Girl Estelle Getty Dies
Golden Girl actress, Estelle Getty has died at the age of 84.
Getty struggled with her acting career for forty years before landing the role of Sophia on sitcom The Golden Girls in 1985.
Getty suffered from advanced dementia and died at her Hollywood Boulevard home.
“She was loved throughout the world in six continents, and if they loved sitcoms in Antarctica she would have been loved on seven continents,” said her son, Carl Gettleman.
“She was one of the most talented comedic actresses who ever lived.”
