Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford has admitted that he is a little confused by his heartthrob status and not entirely sure what it all mean.

The actor, who plays Nate Archibald in the CW drama, told Heat:

“It’s weird. I still don’t know what a heartthrob is. No-one’s managed to tell me exactly what it is but it’s really cool. I mean, I can’t say I don’t like some of the attention!” he said.

When asked how being famous changed his life he explained: “Little things changed and big things changed in general. I mean, you try to stay focused on the work part of it, but I guess in this type of show they try to put a magnifiying glass on your private lives.

“So, in general you become a little bit more wary of people’s intentions maybe.”
