Grand Designs goes live for the first time ever with a week-long series of programmes celebrating the best of British passion, design and innovation in our homes.

Kevin McCloud has just six days to build his own Grand Design , and he’ll be building it live every night. Also at the heart of this week-long celebration will be a nationwide competition to find the Grand Designs Home of the Year.

Janet Street-Porter, Naomi Cleaver and George Clarke will battle it out to see their favourite homes named winner in five different categories. The series also goes in search of some of the worlds most extreme homes, with Dave Gorman unearthing dwellings including a converted missile base.
