Grey’s Anatomy is coming to the end of it’s current season and in typical form, it seems like their series finale is going to be non stop drama.

The last episode in the current run will finally put an end to all the rumours about who is returning – and who isn’t – in the next season, after Mark, Lexie, Meredith, Cristina, Derek and Arizona are all caught up in a plane crash.

Showrunner Shonda Rhimes has already revealed that one of the central cast members will die and at least one other will leave the show and it has been confirmed that one of the stars will from the group mentioned above.

In the promo below, Meredith, Cristina and Mark are all seen moving and seem to have sustained the least injuries – but this is Grey’s and we all know that means nothing – however Derek seems to be missing and Arizona appears to be trapped and unable to move.

Meredith is presumably pissed to have almost lost her husband once more – remember the shooter who almost killed him previously – and declared ‘we are all going to die out here,’ as she moved into the jungle to search for McDreamy. Cristina revealed that he had been removed from the aircraft as it crashed saying:

‘He was sucked out the side.’

Meanwhile, back in Seattle Bailey and Ben make a major decision about their future together, Teddy is given an offer elsehwere (which means that she could be one of the stars leaving, perhaps going to another hospital?), while Richard plans a special dinner for the newly qualified residents.

The final episode of series eight is titled “Flight” and will air in the US on Thursday, May 17 on ABC and later this month in the UK.
