Guinness World Records Smashed – Tonight Sky1, 7pm

Tonight on Sky1 at 7pm Ben Shephard and Fearne Cotton present an hour long special that salutes the ‘have-a-go’ spirit and reinvents the global phenomenon of record breaking. Enthusiastic members of the public and equally keen celebs attempt world record challenges to secure their place in the celebrated book of records.

In front of a live studio audience – who will also take part in a surprise mass record attempt – guests will attempt to beat existing records and big-scale challenges will happen alongside the funny and totally bizarre.

Ben and Fearne will also go head-to-head with a dynamic reverse bungee challenge that will see them catapulted over 100ft above London. But which one of them will become the new world record holder?

Also on the show, singer Duncan James has a case of ‘here come the girls’ for his challenge while Justin Hawkins, former front-man of The Darkness raises the roof in his own inimitable way.

Fearne Cotton described the show as ‘Competitive, exciting and funny,’ adding: ‘There hasn’t been a show like this in the UK for years so it felt natural. It’s an exciting project to be a part of; it’s got a competitive edge and the weird factor.’

Ben Shephard added: ‘The Guinness World Records Book was always one of those things that you got at Christmas, pouring through it, finding out about all these crazy people doing even crazier stunts. It’s an extraordinary challenge for people to try and break records, and it’s something that you’ll always have. The originality and invention astounds me!’

This is going to be a definite must-see tonight!
