Former Hollyoaks star, Hannah Tointon has said that she doesn’t mind people still calling her Katy, despite the fact that she has left the soap.

Hannah told MSN: “People still call me Katy and stuff. But I love Hollyoaks so I’m proud of it. I miss the people and I do miss it sometimes but I’m very happy where I am at the moment.”

Hannah’s latest role is as teenager Casey in The Children, a British horror film about children turning against their parents. The experience has made her realise that she would prefer not to return to a soap type TV show.

She said: “Doing a soap was great for a year. But it’s such a quick turnover, it is the hardest kind of acting, there’s so many lines to learn and so little time.

“With film it’s so nice because you have time to really go into your character and see if a scene works and talk about things you just have a lot more time with it. For me I prefer it.

“I loved doing Hollyoaks and it was great experience, but I don’t know if I could do soap again.”
