Robbie Williams turns 40 today and to celebrate we thought we’d bring you a reminder of some of his most memorable moments and best performances from over the years.
The new dad has entered a whole new phase of his life and is an entirely different person to that cheeky 16 year old we grew to know and love in Take That’s early days.
Back then he was a joker, a teaser and a bit of a menace (in the nicest possible way)…..perhaps not that much has changed after all.
The star shot to fame in the hit 90s boyband but of course came into his own when he left. Expectations were low when Rob went it alone and for a while it looked like he was going to crash and burn. Angels turned all that around and in 2003 Robbie’s reputation as an amazing performer was cemented when he played to 375,000 people over three days at Knebworth – with 3.5 million more watching on television.
The ‘Let Me Entertain You’ hitmaker was also the stand-out star at Live 8, and stunned audiences with his renewed energy and exuberance on Take That’s ‘Progress’ Tour.
Today Robbie is back in full force and last year he wowed fans with his European Take The Crowd stadium tour.
In June he’ll hit the road with his Swings Both Ways tour and it’s been reported that he may be rejoining Take That for their album and tour. The record is expected to drop at the end of 2014, while the band will start their shows in early 2015.
