Harper’s Island: Is Madison Next?

Sheriff Mills still believes JD could be behind the murders, particularly when he finds Uncle Marty’s mobile phone at the Candlewick Inn among JD’s belongings, as the American drama continues. Henry joins the Sheriff’s search party tracking JD and recounts how tormented his brother has been.

Back at her father’s house, Abby is surprised when she discovers the identity of the disfigured mystery man from the woods: he is Cole Harken, her dad’s former deputy. Cole says JD is innocent and that her father has not told Abby the truth about John Wakefield. She recalls seeing an injured Cole on the boat dock on the day her mother was murdered – a massive explosion had been engineered by Wakefield as a distraction while he abducted and killed his victims.

Abby confronts her father, who explains that her mother dated Wakefield in Seattle but ended their relationship. When Wakefield tracked her down to the Island, Mills had his deputies provoke the man into violence, resulting in a long jail sentence. Having served 17 years, Wakefield returned to Harper’s Island and went on his killing spree.

Elsewhere, Sully and Danny jokingly accuse Malcolm of stealing Muffin, the blow-up doll, and search his bag. They are shocked, though, when they find the money from the boat: the cash Booth supposedly disappeared with. Malcolm confesses and later, racked with guilt and grief, heads down to the hotel’s incinerator. As he throws the money into the fire, Malcolm realises he is not alone down there.

Meanwhile, Madison receives a note she believes is from her father and goes to meet him. As she enters the room, the door slams behind her…
