One Direction’s Harry Styles has praised The 1975’s cover of ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ which was recorded as part of BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.
The 1975, who are on course for their first UK Number 1 with their self titled album were in the BBC Radio 1 studios with Fearne Cotton yesterday and performed a cover version of the One Direction’s debut hit.
The Manchester based band have already seen great success in the singles charts with their own music including ‘Chocolate’ (19), ‘The City’ (30) and ‘Sex’ (34) but this cover version has already racked up 83,158 and it was only uploaded yesterday.
Surprisingly it hasn’t got more views to be honest as it’s one of the best covers I’ve heard in a long time.
One Direction first released ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ on September 2011 and was the first track track from their debut album ‘Up All Night’.
The track debuted at Number 1 of the Official Singles Chart and sold 153,965 copies in its first week.
Following the performance Harry Styles tweeted The 1975 and praised the performance:
@the1975 loved the live lounge. And the album is ridiculous, So so good. Found myself googling 'Yosh'…
