Heroes, Chapter 11 - Fallout - Episode Guide
Noah Bennett admits to Claire that he knows about her abilities, has known for a long time. He claims that he kept it from her to keep her safe. Claire understands that Sylar was looking to kill her when he killed Jaqueline.
Claire tells Noah that Zach and Lyle know about her abilities. He insists that Claire tells no-one else and that she destroys the tapes she made of her abilities.
Matt and Agent Hansen arrive at the murder scene investigating Sylar. They mention that the murder bears the hallmarks of a Sylar murder, but that he didn’t totally lobotomize the girl. Matt is knocking back headache tablets like there’s no tomorrow and Hansen notices. They talk about his wife’s infidelity and he tells her he never cheated on his wife.
Nathan arrives at the jail where Peter is being held and the two talk. Nathan attempts to persuade Peter that he shouldn’t use his powers and accept his life as a nurse. Just toward the end, Nathan turns into Sylar - who has the ability to masquerade as other people. His parting words are “How can you stop what’s coming when you don’t know anything about power?”
Given that Sylar is being held captive by Eden and the Haitian at this point, and because Sylar disappears immediately after, we have to assume that this is a dream or a premonition for Peter. Don’t we?
Noah talks to Sylar in custody and goads him, using his name - Gabriel - instead of his assumed name. Bennett demeans him by calling him “an insignificant watchmaker”. Sylar threatens Noah that he’s going to kill Claire and take her powers.
Later Noah is seen talking to someone about Sylar - “Options? There are no options with an individual like this.” Outside the room Eden suggests that she could use her power to persuade Sylar to kill himself.
Niki/Jessica Sanders shoots DL Hawkins in the shoulder as he prepares to get in the car and drive Micah away from a roadside diner. Micah and DL disappear into the forest with Jessica in pursuit, and as DL breaks into a cabin, he passes out.
Hansen and Parkman question Peter Petrelli about the murder. He denys killing the girl and changes the subject when asked about how his blood was found at the scene and yet he has no injuries. Hansen asks him what he was doing at the homecoming.
During the questioning, Matt tries to read Peter’s mind, but Peter has replicated his powers and reads Parkman’s and Hansen’s minds and mistakenly comes to the conclusion that Claire is dead. He becomes frantic and tells them they need to be protecting Claire Bennett and they leave immediately to find her.
Mohinder Suresh returns to his fathers New York apartment and finds a note from Eden welcoming him back. He calls the police and tries to explain the links between the murders, but they’re not taking him seriously.
Eden visits Isaac Mendez at the clinic where he’s drawing. He claims not to be able to do predictive drawings while clean. Eden tells him that Claire is still alive, which he attributes to Peter. She also says that Sylar is in custody and that she’s leaving for a few days. Before she leaves, she gives Isaac a Primatech card and a mobile phone.
Hiro and Ando visit the school where Sylar murdered the girl and Hiro is frustrated that he’s been unable to use his powers so far to save anyone. Hiro is under the mistaken impression that the cheerleader he was tasked with saving is supposedly dead. He resolves to stop the bomb in New York when he receives a call from Isaac Mendez requesting that they meet up.
Claire is questioned by Agent Hansen, who asks her if the attacker exhibited any extraordinary powers. Noah Bennett is accompanying her and Matt Parkman is outside the interview room attempting to listen to her thoughts. As the questioning continues, it becomes apparent that Parkman is unable to read her thoughts. There’s some kind of interference. Turns out that the Haitian is nearby, blocking his powers.
Claire and Noah visit Peter Petrelli in his cell and Noah thanks Peter for saving him. Claire explains her power to him, thinking his powers are the same as hers. Peter admits that the power is new to him and that he didn’t know he would survive the fall from the building.
Later, she meets Zach at the football field and destroys the remaining tapes. She tells Zach he’s become her best friend and asks him not to talk to anyone else about her abilities.
When Claire gets home she tries to convince her brother not to talk about her abilities, but it becomes clear his memory has been wiped. He can’t even remember getting home. She calls Zack to warn him, but as he becomes increasingly disturbed by her babbling, she realizes his memory has been erased too.
She makes a panicked call to her father about Zach and Lyle’s memories being erased and he says he’ll come home soon. The Haitian walks into her room and tells her about the memory erasing, but that he isn’t going to erase her memory. That it’s very important that she has her memory. OK, the fact that he can talk is a surprise and the fact that he’s obviously going against Noah Bennett’s instruction means he may have another agenda.
Jessica pursues Micah in the forest where he leads her back to the cabin. As she enters, DL hits her with a shovel and knocks her out of the building. As they tussle, Jessica knocks Micah far away. The shock brings Niki back to consciousness, and she apologises to DL and Micah, explaining that Jessica is getting out of control.
Niki comes to the conclusion that she can’t be trusted and while DL is distracted by Micah, she crosses the road and turns herself in to a passing police officer for murder.
Comic moment where Agent Hansen thinks to herself that Parkman is cute, then realizes that he probably read her mind. She gets a bit annoyed that he heard her private thought, but the fact that he’s married pours cold water on that one…
Sitting outside Primatech Paper, Matt recognizes the Haitian with Noah Bennett and strains to read their minds. He can only read one word - Sylar.
Isaac, Hiro and Ando meet up and Isaac sees that Hiro has the comic from the future. As they talk, Isaac shows them pictures he drew while sober and discovers that his powers are intact and he can draw predictive paintings while clean. They’re of Hiro and the waitress from the cafe.
Back at Sylar’s holding cell, Bennett tells Sylar that they’re going to take him apart like one of his timepieces.
Eden calls Mohinder and tells him that she lied to him and will reveal everything after she kills the man who killed his father. She then walks into Sylar’s cell with a gun, intending to use her powers to make him kill himself.
He pulls her through the security glass and as she raises the gun he says “You know that won’t hurt me.” Rather than risk Sylar gaining her powers, she turns the gun on herself.
Nathan picks up Peter Petrelli from the police station. Peter has a premonition - featuring all the heroes cast - that he is responsible for the explosion in New York. We see him frightened and confused as his hands and eyes start to glow and an explosion seems to emanate from within him.
Peter falls to the ground, and as Nathan tries to revive him, he slips into a coma…
