Claire’s mother fails to recognize her, but within moments seems to be alright again.
Noah Bennett is at Isaac Mendez’s apartment. Isaac shows him a painting of Peter looking transparent. Bennett reveals that an old (invisible) colleague must still be alive.
Matt Parkman is hiding the jewels that he stole from the crime scene, but his wife discovers one of the rings and assumes it’s for her. He lies, saying that the ring was a special deal because he couldn’t afford it on his salary.
Matt’s wife tells him that Mohinder Suresh called the apartment and was looking for Matt.
Sylar has managed to tag along with Mohinder on a trip to find another ‘hero’. She’s a mechanic with extra sensitive hearing. The woman is cagey with them when they approach her, but Sylar steps in to reassure her and demonstrates the power he recently stole - he melts her wrench. Convinced, she retorts “That was my best damn wrench”.
She tells them about her power and notices that Sylar’s heart is racing. He covers by saying he’s excited to find someone like him. Mohinder manages to get her to agree to testing and they leave to return the next day.
Hiro Nakamura is still stuck in a cupboard in Las Vegas. The man they stole the bag from takes him out, and reluctantly takes Hiro with him to find the girl who asked them to steal the it.
Ted Sprague visits his wife’s grave and vows to track down the people who gave him his power. In his silent rage, we see the flowers in his hand wilt and the surrounding grass shrivel and die.
Peter Petrelli and Claude fight on the Deveaux balcony. As Claude is about to bring a pole down on his head, Peter uses telekinesis to stop the impact and break the pole.
Simone and Isaac argue over Peter, and she threatens to give back his apartment key.
Ando and the Vegas showgirl stop at a rest stop, and as he tries to help her, he discovers the contents of her bag. Unfortunately, she didn’t want him finding out and pulls her gun on him.
Mohinder and Sylar check into a motel for the night. Talking outside, Mohinder reveals that he knows Sylar murdered his father. Unwittingly, he ponders what he’d do if he came face to face with Sylar, but acknowledges that justice will never really be served.
During a conversation with her mother about her memory issues, Claire Bennet mentions that her father may not be entirely trustworthy. However, before they get a chance to discuss it, her mother collapses on the kitchen floor.
Across the country, Noah Bennett is on a rooftop with special visors on, pointing a tranquilizer gun at Peter and Claude. The Haitian is with him. A dart hits Claude and knocks him out, but Peter uses his telekinesis power to stop the next darts and pulls a spectacular move - he throws Claude off the roof and jumps off, catching Claude and flying to safety with him.
In Parkman’s apartment, his wife confronts him about the origin of the diamonds and tells him that she knows they’re stolen. He admits that they came from the murder. They argue, but she admits that things have changed since he gained his powers. However, Matt gets a call from Sprague and leaves before they can discuss things further.
Claude wakes in Peter’s apartment and punches Peter straight away. He blames him for bringing the Company to his door and leaves, telling Peter to stay away from him.
Simone visits Nathan Petrelli and they discuss Peter. They also argue over whether the public should know about their powers. Nathan feels that if they went public, people with powers would be treated as freaks and rounded up.
Hiro and Ando are reunited in the middle of a gunfight between the showgirl and the high-roller. They hide out in the luggage compartment of a bus, but the girl draws a gun on them. She fires, but Hiro stops time long enough for her adversary to knock her over.
Afterward, Hiro tells Ando that he is in danger and tells him to go home. He says is was a mistake to bring him and that he must continue alone. Hiro hops on the next bus (driven by Stan Lee, Spidey-fans).
Sylar visits the mechanic late at night. She detects the change in him and asks him what the sound in his heart is…
The next morning, Sylar returns with Mohinder. Mohinder discovers the mechanic’s dead body and vomits. As he tries to phone the police, Sylar urges him not to because the police might think they were involved. Mohinder knows from the nature of death that Sylar was involved.
At the hospital with her mother, Claire tries to tell the doctor about the Haitian, but she doesn’t believe her.
When Bennett arrives at the hospital, Claire confronts him about her mother’s memory loss. She loses her temper and shouts at him, and he reveals that Sylar came to their house for Claire. Although he claims to be protecting her, Claire tells him an apology won’t cut it.
Matt meets Ted in the graveyard and he and Hana fill him in on the story of the Company, the isotopes they’ve been injected with. They make a plan to capture Noah Bennett and find out about what the Company has been doing.
The Bennets return home and are promptly captured by Ted Sprague’s rag-tag group of Heroes.
Peter confronts Isaac at his apartment and they fight. Peter uses his powers to throw Isaac across the room. Isaac pulls the gun, but Peter turns invisible. As Peter taunts Isaac, Simone walks into the room and Isaac mistakenly shoots her twice in the chest…fatally.
