Episode starts with Peter and Isaac, Peter passes on his message to Hiro - “Save the cheerleader, save the world”. Afterward, in the car park, the gambler Hiro and Ando ripped off tracks them down and tells them he wants payback.
Hiro and Ando get involved in a card game to pay back the gamblers, but Ando discovers a gun under the table and they hide in the bathroom as a gunfught ensues. Hiro feels guilty that he hid and could do nothing to save them. Ando advises Hiro that when he refines his powers he might be able to come back and fix the things he wasn’t able to do first time around.
Claire Bennett is at home with her parents. Noah tells Claire that her biological parents want to meet with her. He sets the meeting up, but it turns out to be a hoax. Claire’s adopted mother raises her suspicions when she mentions that they had looked for her biological parents before but weren’t able to. Convenient that Noah was able to track them down so easily this time around?
Niki Sanders wakes abruptly at night and discovers her husband - DL Hawkins - has returned home. He notices that she’s not wearing her wedding ring. It turns out that a woman committed the crime he is suspected of. Wonder who that could be?
Niki allows him to stay overnight, but insists he leaves the next morning. Doesn’t take her long to invite him back into the marital bed though.
The next morning, it’s apparent that Niki’s alter-ego has been hard at work. They visit the flat of the money launderer that DL wanted to speak to. They discover the men in the apartment murdered and later Niki tells DL about the incident with the loan sharks.
Afterward, Niki talks to her alter ego for the first time. Alter-Niki admits to the killings and shows herself to be a ruthless killer. She tells Niki to take the money and get Micah as far away from DL as possible. However, DL catches her when she retrieves the money and is devastated by the double-cross. Alter-Niki comes to the fore and fights DL, but he uses his powers (passing through matter) to fight and eventually debilitate her. Unfortunately, Micah walks into the room and witnesses the fight.
Elsewhere, Mohinder Suresh and his neighbour, Eden, chat about Peter and Mohinder’s plans to return to India. They kiss and Mohinder leaves.
It turns out that Eden is in contact with Noah Bennett, and that she’s spying on Mohinder. She passes on information about the people Mohinder has spoken to, including Hiro’s message about saving the cheerleader.
Isaac uncovers the symbol in a portrait of Niki in his studio. Eden arrives at the studio posing as a fan of his work.
