Holly Willoughby has claimed her new This Morning role is the “best telly job ever”.

In an interview with The People, Holly admitted that she was shell shocked when she was offered the chance to replace Fern Britton on the ITV show.

“I almost fainted,” she said. “I was in shock, I didn’t see it coming. It’s the best telly job ever. There were so many other very, very talented presenters in the frame so I never thought I would have a chance and I can’t wait to start.”

On claims that she doesn’t have enough TV experience Holly replied:

“People will have to judge me once they’ve seen me in front of the cameras on the This Morning sofa,” she remarked. “Of course there will be some nerves, but I know what I am capable of achieving.

“And if all goes wrong, I can hide behind Phillip – I know he won’t mind.

“I am aware that I have big shoes to fill and I am going to do everything I can to do a very good job.”
