Hollyoaks Spoiler – Keiron Richardson (Ste Hay): “A wedding does happen” – will it be Doug and Lianne’s though?
Fans of the hit Channel 4 soap will know how newly outed Doug (PJ Brennan) has lied to his parent about being in a relationship with best gal-pal, Lianne (Jessica Forrest) to cover up the fact that he is gay and in a relationship with business partner, Ste (Keiron Richardson).
This brought up the subject of Doug’s inheritance from his late grandmother, due to him on his wedding day, a sum tidy enough for the Deli owners to pay of Brendan Brady (Emmett J Scanlan) once and for all and have complete control of their thriving business.
Lianne agrees to go ahead with the sham wedding in order to secure them their fortune, but as the date gets closer, the reality becomes more apparent, especially for Ste (whose idea it was in the first place), and with Lianne in full Bridezilla mode, the future of all relationships involved hang in the balance!
Speaking to All About Soap, Keiron Richardson who plays Ste in the award-winning teen drama, confirmed that there will be a wedding!
“He says to [Doug], ‘You either tell your parents that we’re a couple, or I’ll do it for you!’ It’s left on a bit of a cliff-hanger, so viewers will wonder whether Doug can work up the courage to come out to his folks.”
And what will be Doug’s reaction to that?
“Well, a wedding does happen, but I’ll leave you guessing whether it’s Doug and Leanne, or Doug and Ste. Ste will be heartbroken if Doug marries Leanne. It’s a brilliant episode, but that’s all I’m saying.”
However, Richardson went on to say that he believes that Ste and Doug’s relationship is strong enough to survive the dramas ahead.
He explained: “I think they’ll always find a way back to one another in the end. Neither Ste nor Doug are angels – they’re fiery, but are also well suited. They have a completely different relationship from what Ste had with Brendan.”
And does he think Ste will go back to Brendan?
“I’m not sure, because so much has gone on between them. It depends on whether Doug goes ahead and marries Leanne. If he does, I think Ste’s relationship would be seriously affected, and he’d probably run back to Brendan.”
Watch the Hollyoaks wedding episode on Friday, September 7 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
