Hollyoaks: Neil Newbon says his character, Walker, is like a brother to him!
Hollyoaks latest bad boy, Walker, hasn’t gone down too well with many residents in the village, especially as he is a suspect in the recent Who Killed Lynsey storyline, but one person who has warmed to him is Neil Newbon, the actor who plays him, who says he is like a brother to him!
According to the Daily Star, Newbon, who viewers have seen on-screen start an illicit affair with fellow bad boy, Brendan Brady (Emmet J Scanlan) despite being married with children, has revealed how he really loves his villainous alter-ego.
Speaking to Inside Soap, Newbon, whose character is currently on a body guard mission to protect Brendan’s sister, Cheryl (Bronagh Waugh), says about his character: “He does the things he needs to in order to get what he wants. Whether he’s good or bad is up to the viewers to judge, not me.
“As an actor, you have to love your character, even though they’re not real. So in a strange way, I love Walker like a brother!”
With regards to the dramatic and edgy plots he has been given since joining the show earlier this year Newbon has praised them and insists that when he plays apart in this years Hollyoaks Later, fans wont be disappointed.
“It’s absolute dynamite. It’s going to be unlike anything you’ve ever seen before in the show.”
