Hollyoaks: newcomer Claire King says Hollyoaks got it wrong!
Hollyoaks latest cast member, Claire King, has come and criticised the set, claiming it is inaccurate!
King, who viewers will see on their screens soon playing a prison guard in the hit Channel 4soap, has admitted that her previous experience playing a wing governor, has given her a good insight to how the inside of a prison is meant to look, and the latest Hollyoaks prison set she is now working on does not meet up to her standards.
“You wouldn’t have that in prison – it’s all stuck up with toothpaste.”
Despite this oversight, the actress insists that she is enjoying playing the part of the guard in the award-winning teen drama, where she is involved in the upcoming storyline involving jail birds Myra McQueen (Nicole Barber-Lane) and Mitzeee Minniver (Rachel Shenton), especially the scenes where she is working with Nicole:
Speaking to the sun newspaper, she commented: “It’s great and Nicole was lovely.
“Despite all the long days and working weekends, she still has a smile on her face – but that’s probably down to reading the book ’50 Shades Of Grey’.”
The 49-year-old actress then went on to confess that work isn’t very forthcoming now that she is almost 50 as the industry is “dead” to mature actors.
She added: “All of us girls are fighting for the same parts as there aren’t that many for those in their forties and fifties.
“You are dead in this industry after 35, you start becoming a little bit more invisible. It just means you have to shout very loudly.”
