Hollyoaks Producer Bryan Kirkwood says Gillian Taylforth’s family will be a male version of the McQueens!

As we reported earlier this week, the village of Hollyoaks is going to be the new home of former EastEnder Gillian Taylforth and her five sons, and now producer Bryan Kirkwood has labelled them the male version of the McQueens!

Gillian Taylforth, who is best known for her long stint as Kathy Mitchell (Beale) in the award-winning soap was announced earlier this as joining the cast of Hollyoaks as mum-of-five, Sandy Roscoe.

Sandy and her five sons are expected to stir quite a lot of attention from the rest of the village when they burst on to our screens, with local girls due to swoon over the five handsome newcomers. But, like any good Hollyoaks family, they are also set to stir quite a lot of trouble too!

Taylforth commented: “I am really looking forward to joining Hollyoaks, which is going from strength to strength under Bryan Kirkwood at the moment.

“My real family are excited to move up to Liverpool – a fantastic city – and I’m eager to meet my new family, five hunky Hollyoaks sons who I’m sure will all be saints!”

And it seems Bryan Kirkwood is just as enthusiastic about Gillian’s new family, who are due to make their screen debut this spring, and has even predicted them being as big as current leading family, the McQueens!

Executive producer Bryan Kirkwood said: “I’m very excited about this family. Think a male version of the McQueens!

“With five brothers there will be something for everyone – from the younger one who could be in One Direction to the eldest who is a true soap hunk.

“They are all seriously hot, and will be shirtless for a lot of the time!”

Keeping rather tight-lipped about the families upcoming storylines, he did hint that one of the brothers in particular will have a link to a current, popular Hollyoaks resident.

This news comes at the same time as it was announced that Gemma Bissix is also returning to Hollyoaks to reprise her role as super-vixen, Clare Devine.

A show insider told the Daily Star newspaper: “A handful of hot men, a soap legend and one of Hollyoaks’ best bitches. What more can a fan want?”
