After months and months of unrequited love, it seems that Hollyoaks Dennis Savage’s luck may have finally changed, when he ends up spending the night with Leanne Holiday!
Fans of the hit Channel 4 soap will know how Dennis (Joe Tracini) has been in love with Leanne for what seems like forever, and has tried just about every trick possible to get her to return his affection, including pretending to move to India, but so far Leanne (Jessica Forrest) has resisted his comical Savage charm.
But all that may be about to change when, after a heart to heart over the festive season, during which Dennis declares his love for her yet again, Leanne is shocked to wake up the next morning in bed with him, with no recollection of what happened the night before!
The situation arises when Leanne turns to Dennis for comfort as she is feeling lonely on New Year’s Eve, but after a few too many drinks, things take an unexpected turn, or do they?
Speaking to Inside Soap, Jessica Forrest, who plays Leanne, explained: “Leanne has one too many drinks and wakes up next to Dennis. She thinks, ‘Oh my God! What have I done?’ It’s a real ‘has she or hasn’t she?’ moment for the audience.”
“Leanne pours her heart out to him [on New Year’s Eve]. And it’s hilarious when she wakes up with him the next day and can’t remember whether she’s slept with him.”
Leanne is visibly horrified by what might have happened, but when Dennis reminds her of how much she means to him, she is left considering their relationship much more closely.
“Dennis tells Leanne he loves her. She likes the attention, but it’s not fair to mess with his emotions. Then Dennis asks her if she wants to be with him or not, so she has a big decision to make.”
Do you think that Dennis and Leanne should become a couple? Or would you prefer Dennis to find someone who will love him for who he is, not what they can get out of him? Leave your thoughts and comments below:
