No soon as one mystery is solved in Hollyoaks, another emerges, and this time it won’t be murder, it will be lust!
Fans of the award-winning Channel 4 soap will know how recently Sinead O’Connor (Stephanie Davis) was left heartbroken when she received a phone call from her boyfriend, Bart McQueen (Johnny Clarke) from Amsterdam to say he was breaking up with her.
The incident happened during this year’s Hollyoaks Later when Bart started seeing someone else. However, when it didn’t work out, Bart changed his plans to stay in the cannabis capital of the world and came home with his friends, and set about a desperate mission to convince Sinead that he didn’t mean it when he dumped her!
The pair are set to try and work through their issues, but in an upcoming storyline, viewers will see Sinead have a one-night stand with one of the village’s male residents, whose identity is being kept a closely guarded secret!
Spoilers regarding the storyline have listed Darren (Ashley Taylor-Dawson), Rhys (Andrew Moss), Rob (David Atkins), teacher Jen’s brother Liam (James Farrar) and Jono (Dylan Llewellyn) as prime suspects for the act, which will take place after a boozy party!
One person of particular interest seems to be that of new dad, Darren Osbourne!
Darren attends the party after asking wife Nancy (Jessica Fox) for a divorce following the situation surrounding the premature birth of their baby son, furious and blaming her for their sons life threatening condition because he believes she put herself under so much stress while pregnant.
Dawson told Inside Soap magazine: “Darren goes to the party to drown his sorrows. He gets himself into such a state that he doesn’t know what he’s doing. If it is Darren who beds Sinead, it’ll have serious repercussions for any future with Nancy.”
He goes on to discuss the current situation between his character and Nancy:
“Darren believes that Nancy didn’t take proper care of herself during her pregnancy. She seemed preoccupied with what was happening with Mitzeee, and wouldn’t listen to him when he told her to back off. In his heart of hearts, Darren feels she’s responsible for all of this.”
So, who do you think the mystery man is? Our verdict:
Seems unlikely to us as he has more than enough on his plate with the baby, plus he is as loyal as a St Bernard, and we all know he loves Nancy more than anything and, though technically single at the time, we don’t think he would risk losing any chance of them sorting things out!
Would Rhys really have the time and energy to embark on yet another affair? Surely his wife, Jacqui (Claire Cooper) and his-bit-on-the-side, Cindy (Stephanie Waring) are more than enough to keep him on his toes!
Is technically single, so where would be the excitement in that?
Hasn’t had a really juicy storyline since joining the cast, so this may be his chance, plus we don’t know how his big sister would feel about him dating one of her students, and one of her ex girlfriends best friends, so maybe!
BINGO!!!! After what Sinead’s boyfriend, Bart, did to him (the girl Bart dumped Sinead over was meant to be going out with Jono) so an eye for an eye and all that! Our bet is on him!
Hollyoaks can be seen week nights at 6.30pm on Channel 4/Channel 4 HD.
