Fans of Hollyoaks will be pleased to learn that Amy Barnes will be returning to our Channel 4 screens for two episodes next month, Digital Spy reports!
Amy (Ashley Slanina-Davies) was last seen on our screens last summer when, after splitting with Ally Grogan (Dan O’Conner) she upped-sticks and moved to Manchester with her two children, Lucas and Leah, to embark on a new life for herself.
Since her departure her children have returned to the village to live with their father, Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson), after arriving to be part of his wedding to Doug Carter (PJ Brennan).
The wedding day ended up becoming one of the biggest tragedies the show has ever seen when sixth-former Maddie Morrison (Scarlet Bowman) ploughed a mini-bus carrying several of her college mates through the double wedding ceremony of Ste and Doug and Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) and Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) leaving 4 main members of the Hollyoaks cast dead.
Following the epic Enjoy The Ride wedding day disaster, many of the people involved have made changes to their lives, and both wedding couples have since broken up.
Ste was about to embark on a new life in America with Doug and the kids, but Doug, who knew that Ste’s heart still belonged to Brendan Brady (Emmett J. Scanlan) set his new husband free to chase his real feelings.
However, the return of Amy may suggest that she is far from happy with her ex playing happy families with her children, and the man who used to beat him.
Ashley Slanina-Davies, who plays Amy in the hit Channel 4 soap, returned to the Liverpool set last December to briefly reprise her role, and is set to star alongside Kieron Richardson (Ste Hay), Emmett Scanlan (Brendan Brady) and her on-screen children for the two episodes due to air on Tuesday, February 12 and Wednesday, February 13 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
