As we have previously reported Peri Lomax’s biological father Cameron is set to make his village debut, but while we weren’t expecting him to be a saint, we have now been warned that there is a very dark and dangerous side to him indeed.
Fans of the hit Channel 4 soap will know that Peri (Ruby O’Donnell) is not actually the youngest Lomax daughter at all, but actually the eldest granddaughter!
When Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) got it in to her head that Peri was in fact her long lost daughter, Sophie, after discovering that she was adopted, her new BFF Leela (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) was forced to tell her the truth, Peri was in fact her daughter.
Now we all know (well, except for Peri of course) the truth it is only a matter of time before Leela does something about her secret, and when it looks like her mum Sam Lomax (Lizzie Roper) might take back her cheating father Danny (Stephen Billington), she threatens to take her child back.
Desperate not to let that happen Sam pays Cameron (Cameron Moore) a visit in the prison he is currently serving time in and threatens him with an extended sentence if he has anything to do with Leela, who she knows is trying to arrange a visit with him also.
And whilst Cameron seems to be bought off relatively easy, there could well be a reason for that, as Cameron Moore, the actor who plays him, has been telling Digital Spy just how dark his character can get!
When asked just what sort of character Cameron is, Cameron (this is going to get incredibly confusing) replied:
“It’s definitely more complicated than that. Cameron doesn’t do anything bad for the sake of it, but I think if you spend 14 years in prison, it definitely has some sort of effect on your psyche. He doesn’t intimidate anyone just for the sake of it, as I think he’s more intelligent than that. You do get to see both sides of him – there’s a playful side but there’s a dangerous side as well.”
However, it seems that his one weakness could be Leela, as he went on to explain Cameron’s feelings towards the young fire-fighter:
“They were together before Cameron went to prison 14 years ago. It was a childhood romance and Cameron never really got over that. I like to think of it as a love story. When Cameron is released from prison, some of his actions are going to be slightly questionable, but I always justify them by saying that it’s all for the woman he left behind.”
Hollyoaks continues tonight at 6.30pm on Channel 4 / Channel 4 HD.
