Hollyoaks Spoilers: Carmel Valentine (Gemma Merna) to fall for Jim McGinn (Dan Tetsell)!

It looks like romance might be on the cards for Carmel Valentine in Hollyoaks, in a surprising new storyline.

Fans of the hit Channel 4 soap will know how unlucky-in-love Carmel (Gemma Merna) has been batting away the unwanted attentions of dodgy barrister Jim McGinn (Dan Tetsell) for months now, but it seems that the old cliché ‘you don’t know what you have go till it’s gone’ may be true, as Carmel is set to find out the hard way!

Jim first burst on to our screens last year as the barrister who not only managed to get Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) off the hook from serious charges, but somehow managed to get her boyfriend, Paul Browning (Joseph Thompson) out of jail for the murder of Lynsey Nolan too.

Since then he has become Hollyoaks go-to-guy when it comes to the obviously guilty being let out of jail free, but whilst the rest of the village appreciate his presence (for purely selfish reasons), the one person he wanted to notice him, Carmel, simply did not want to know.

In order to keep him on side, Carmel has humoured Jim on a few dates, at her family’s insistence, but it would seem that she is set to realise she actually has real feelings for him, just when he had given up hope of winning her over.

Viewers will see Carmel notice Jim’s caring side next week when he makes her chicken soup when she is feeling unwell. He then surprises her by presenting her with a big bunch of flowers and asks her to meet him later.

Carmel decides not to go, and leaves Jim waiting. However, when she suddenly realises her true feelings and races over to meet him, she finds he has already gone, and seemingly given up on their relationship.

Back home and Carmel opens up about her new found feelings for the crooked barrister to mum Myra (Nicole Barber-Lane), but it is unknown what advise her mum gives her, or if Carmel comes clean to Jim.

Watch a moment between Carmel and Jim that he will never forget in the clip below:

Watch all the drama unfold next week, Hollyoaks can be seen weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4/ Channel 4 HD.
