As we have previously reported, the first introduction of the new Roscoe family in Hollyoaks is set to be an explosive one, and it could mean game over for one member in particular.
Robbie Roscoe (Charlie Wernham) has been nothing but trouble ever since arriving in the village last month, but things are set to intensify when his latest antics result in his new BFF Callum Kane (Laurie Duncan) getting shot!
The situation arises when Callum (Laurie Duncan) finds out that his two new BFF’s Robbie (Charlie Wernham) and Finn O’Connor (Keith Rice) are planning on robbing the village’s local shop, Price Slice!
Desperate for cash himself as his family need to come up with three month’s rent in a week, Callum decides he wants in on the plan.
However, when he finds out that Robbie is planning on using a gun in the robbery, he shy’s away, opting instead to watch over the event from afar.
Unfortunately, and unbeknown to Finn, his pregnant sister Sinead (Stephanie Davis) is the cashier in the shop at the time of the scheduled robbery, but with the help of a balaclava he hopes his sister won’t recognise him.
Things then go from bad to worse when Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) enters the shop with his baby son, Oscar, unaware of the situation inside.
It is at this point that Callum decides to intervene and rushes into the shop to try and get the gun off Robbie, but when the weapon goes off during the struggle, his life is left seriously hanging in the balance.
Both Robbie and Finn make a quick exit, and think that they have got away with it, but when the rest of the Roscoe’s arrive in the village a chance encounter with Darren might have blown Robbie’s cover.
Having witnessed the entire robbery, Darren notices that one of the Roscoe brothers comes into the Dog and the Pond wearing the same hoodies that was worn by the shooter – but it isn’t Robbie!
Noticing that Jason (Alfie Browne-Sykes), Robbie’s innocent twin brother, is wearing the garment, Darren drags him in to the pub determined to hand him over to police.
However it isn’t long before the rest of the Roscoe brothers arrive to confront Darren over his supposedly outrageous allegations.
But they are soon put in their place by their matriarchal mother, Sandy (Gillian Taylforth) who shows up and informs her sons that Darren is in fact their new landlord, having just acquired the Kane’s house after they failed to pay rent.
However, despite being protective ad loyal to her sons, Gillian Taylforth has revealed to Soaplife that her character will eventually get to the bottom of the armed robbery, explaining:
“She goes looking for the gun he used and eventually Robbie has to come clean to her. Sandy’s not happy – she’s going to put her foot down.”
