Jacqui McQueen hasn’t had the best of luck in Hollyoaks recently, and with the recent arrival of an old prison friend, Trudy Ryan, it seemed like things weren’t going to get better anytime soon.
Having already having to come to terms with her husband’s death during last year’s epic Enjoy The Ride wedding day bus crash, and the revelation that he had impregnated a student behind her back, Jacqui (Claire Cooper) finally seemed to be rebuilding her life.
At one point it even looked like she may rekindle her old romance with ex-fiancé, Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard), until she discovered that he knew about the affair his wife had been having with Jacqui’s late husband behind her back.
Then there was the arrival of her old friend, Trudy (Daniella Westbrook), who came complete with a suitcase of skeletons and grudges where Jacqui was concerned.
After a very tense reunion, things seemed like they could be worked out between Jacqui and Trudy when they had a heart to heart after Trudy rescued Jacqui from a dangerous situation, but things weren’t as they seemed as viewers witnessed Trudy paying off the man she had got to pose as Jacqui’s would-be attacker.
Whilst the situation seems to have gone quiet just recently, Trudy is set to cause Jacqui even more grief in an upcoming storyline, which leads to Tony finding out the big secret that Jacqui has been keeping!
Jacqui and Tony get close again next week after Tony realises his feeling for the matriarchal McQueen when an attempt at a new romance with Diane O’Connor fails to take off.
However, when he tries to step in and help his one true love get Trudy off her back, all hell breaks loose.
In an attempt to solve Jacqui’s increasing anxiety about Trudy’s presence, Tony attempts to bribe Trudy into leaving her alone. The plan appears to have worked, and Tony and Jacqui look more likely than ever to get back together when they go to a costume party at Chez Chez, with Tony dressed as a US navy officer, much like the one used in An Officer And A Gentleman.
But little do they know that Trudy isn’t finished in her plot to bring down Jacqui, and after they discover that Trudy has trashed Tony’s flat as a warning, Jacqui finally admits to the businessman exactly what it is Trudy has over her.
Bosses at the hit Channel 4 soap are keeping Jacqui’s shocking secret tightly under wraps but one things that has been confirmed is that after explaining exactly what happened between her and Trudy in prison, Jacqui is left asking Tony if he still wants to be with her!
Considering that Claire Cooper, the actress who plays Jacqui, is set to leave the show very soon, and the fact that Nick Pickard, the actor who plays Tony, is not, we can only assume that the answer is NO!
Watch all the drama unfold in Hollyoaks on Wednesday, April 3 and Thursday, April 4 at 6.30pm on Channel 4/ Channel 4 HD.
